Regional Mentoring Sessions under Institution Innovation Cell (IIC), MHRD

Most of the aspiring entrepreneurs at higher education institutes are buzzing with ideas; all that they need is proper mentoring and handholding. It is, therefore, important to work closely with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to encourage students to bring out their innovative and creative spirit. Innovative start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures would be the order of the day. Given this mandate, MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) has planned and is undertaking multiple initiatives. As a part of it, it is currently implementing programmes such as Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA), and formation of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in more than 1000 Higher Educational Institutions.  As a knowledge partner, EDII provides platform to the people to present their ideas and concepts for enterprise endeavours.

Impact

  • The one-day regional mentoring sessions prepared students with PoCs to enable them to have conceptual understanding on problem statement, Ideation, Innovation and entrepreneurship. It also helped them understand, analyse, and resolve problems in a creative and innovative manner, identify business opportunity for Idea/PoC/Innovation, understand and learn the elements of a successful business model and develop a business model canvas (BMC).
  • In all, 14 mentoring sessions were organised in 12 cities to provide mentorship on idea validation, business opportunity identification and business model development.
  • A Proof of Concept contest was floated in June 2019.
