An MoU was signed between Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) and EDII for developing entrepreneurial culture among SC/ST youths at National and State levels.
Under the programme, in addition to developing people from the marginalized sections to become entrepreneurs, they would also be incubated to launch and sustain their own ventures.
In a Facebook post on November 22,2017,Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg acknowledged Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, as one of its key partners in providing digital training in India.
Speaking about partnerships with key institutes, including EDII, to implement the digital training program in the country, Ms. Sandberg wrote:
“We're proud to partner with Digital Vidya, Startup India, Dharma Life, and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad to make these online programs come to life. By working together, we can give more people access to great jobs that help them support their families and communities.”
In July 2017, Facebook and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India(EDII) had come together for the implementation of Facebook’s ‘Boost Your Business’ program in 22 states and 1000 cities of India. The program aims to train 20,000 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs of which 7500 will be from Gujarat.
Speaking about the importance of digital marketing for small entrepreneurs, Ms. Sandberg reiterated the Social Networking Giant’s commitment to skilling small businesses in India digitally by 2020.
BoostYourBusiness is an initiative from Facebook Corporation for helping the MSMEs to use the multifaceted platform of Facebook to promote their business. It is going to benefit the wide network of MSMEs in India through training to use different services of Facebook for business. Ranging from Facebook page to Facebook ads. Facebook is collaborating with EDII to implement this promising project in India.Potential of Facebook

The participants include- MSMEs, retailers, wholesalers, dealers, traders, industry associations, women entrepreneurs, social enterprises, SHG/JLG enterprises.
It is conducted as flash workshops, wherein the micro/small enterprises /shop keepers/ traders would learn about various aspects of using Facebook to “Boost Your Business”. It is designed as three hour intensive and interactive workshop conducted by specially trained resource persons in all the locations.Outcome
Under this project the MSMEs will be equipped to use the multifaceted platform of Facebook to reach out a vast mass of their potential customer with a comparatively less cost. This will become a turning point to many of the enterprises in graduating their business into next level.EDII’s Role
EDII has taken the responsibility of implementing this promising project for Indian MSMEs as a pan India bases. EDII will reach out various the enterprises across cities through its wide network of 6 regional offices and in association with different implementing agencies like NGOs and educational institutions. EDII will manage all the aspects of the project including promotion of the project, creating the pool of trainers, conducting the training programme, follow up support to MSMEs to implement the ideas which are delivered in the training period etc.Target Beneficiaries:
The target beneficiaries are Micro and Small Entrepreneurs, who have not yet untapped the power of Facebook. Preference would be given for Young Entrepreneurs, Women Entrepreneurs, and Rural EntrepreneursContent
