This training programme is not just a 5-day programme but a continuous process and EDII would be available for hand-holding, guidance and support so as to ensure tangible benefits.” She said that this programme will encourage the faculty members to think of start up ideas and be innovative so that once into the process, they will be able to understand the ideas of students better alongside being able to guide them effectively.

Explaining the significance of innovative thinking, Ms. Anju Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Education Department. Govt. of Gujarat emphasised on creative implementation. She said, “You should learn to look past the basics and come up with ideas that aren’t stereotypical. Don’t focus on what’s already available but focus on the void spaces that can be implemented with innovative, out-of-the-box ideas.” Ms. Sharma encouraged the Faculty members to motivate students to let go of fear and become risk-takers. She advised the participants to come up with start-up ideas at the end of the 5-day programme and encouraged them to draw maximum learning both within and outside classroom settings so that they could better guide their students.”

Speaking about the current trends in start-up ecosystem, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director-EDII said, “Keeping in mind the high mortality rate of start-ups wherein around 90% of start-ups don’t make it past the growth phase, we have introduced a curriculum which will orient the faculty members to guide better so that the aspiring entrepreneurs not only strengthen their ideas but also get exposed to the various facets of entrepreneurship for sustainable growth.”

The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the guests by Dr. Mihir Shah, Jt. CEO, SSIP.
