I am glad that we, as a society, have started directing focussed efforts towards placing entrepreneurship on the same pedestal as other career options. Entrepreneurship needs to be promoted as a natural career option and this learning should become a part of education where students imbibe winning traits and values, pretty early in life so that they get oriented towards considering entrepreneurship as a natural career option.

Our government has fired the imagination of youth to unleash the spirit of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs must focus on the possibility of doing extraordinary things. In order to become successful, start-ups must try to identify the gap in the ecosystem, build a business model around the same and bridge the gap.

Entrepreneurship covers a wide spectrum from street vendors and vegetable sellers to multi-crore enterprises. One sees the spirit of entrepreneurship asserting itself over this wide spectrum. While it is difficult to cover the entire spectrum, EDI, as I understand, is focusing on specific segments such as small and medium enterprises as well as women entrepreneurs. This is particularly meaningful in the context of the emphasis on inclusive growth.
