Dr. Sharma is Ph.D. in Industrial Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh. With more than 10 years’ experience in academics along with 6 years in the development sector of industrial clusters/SMEs, he has also worked as a faculty member at ICFAI Business School, Indore & Hyderabad.

Dr. Sharma worked for 6 years as Consultant with Foundation for MSME Clusters (‘FMC’) and Competitiveness (based in Barcelona for its operations in India) , New Delhi, including as a Manager for ‘SME Clusters & Sustainable Development’; DST GOI project ‘Promoting innovation in Clusters’; DFID funded SIDBI-PMD BDS project ‘Implementing Business Development Services’ mainly in M&E, strategic guidance, implementation and coordination including research and training under different projects for various verticals in industrial clusters. During this duration he conducted TOT programs in ‘Clusters to Make SMEs Sustainable’ for UNIDO project for capacity building of CDAs in Teheran, Iran and for national stakeholders and worked as a consultant with ‘Competitiveness: The Cluster Competitiveness Group’.

With 16 years of experience, he brings forth a result oriented approach with considerable management skills and exposure in managing project implementation for industrial clusters.  His diverse experience has helped him develop skills in managing and leading a team, training and developing resources, cross-functional team coordination, and industrial cluster operations without compromising on quality, ethics, and values.

Dr. Sharma has guided Ph.D. thesis titled, ‘The Analysis & Operations Optimization to Mitigate under Utilization of Equipment’s at Coal Handling Plants of Super-Critical Thermal Units’, by - Mr. S. N. Dubey (Co-Guide Dr. Dalei & External Guide Dr. Raghav Sarna - BARC).  He has co-authored over 7 publications, reports, have read and presented many more at the national and international conferences and conducted and participated in national and international training programs.

Dr. Sharma has conducted classes during Faculty Exchange Program under ERASMUS program at ‘University of Maribor, Slovenia’.
