Objectives

CrAdLE, a Section 8 company, fosters technology/knowledge-based entrepreneurial start-ups by:

  • Nurturing them at an early-stage and helping them overcome teething troubles
  • Mentoring and providing all-equipped business environment for operation
  • Extending value-added services viz. legal, financial, technical, IPR and mentoring to incubates

Intake of incubates

Over the first three years, CrAdLE will mentor 10 incubatees each year, making it to 30 at the end of three years. Incubatees will be mentored and extended handholding support in all aspects of technology-based New Enterprise Creation.

The selection criteria (indicative) for incubatees are:

  • Proof of concept

  • Resources’ requirement planning
  • Scalability

  • Team composition
  • Social relevance

Outcome

CrAdLE aims at inducing growth in the economy by nurturing the most innovative technology-based ideas and seeing them crystallise into sustainable entities. CrAdLE would play a major role in achieving inclusive growth through:

  • New Venture Creation: New technologies/knowledge-based ventures will be promoted.
  • Technology Commercialisation: A platform will be provided for speedy commercialisation of technologies developed in academic and R&D institutions of the country.
  • Interfacing and Networking: Interaction and networking will be promoted between academia, industry and financial institutions, thus strengthening the start-up ecosystem.
  • Value Addition: Value-added services viz. legal, financial, technical, IPR and mentoring will be extended to incubates.

Dr Sunil Shukla

Chairman

Teaching and training interests are in behavioural science, entrepreneurship education and corporate entrepreneurship. Research and consulting interests include entry barriers to entrepreneurship, curriculum development, intrapreneurship, family business management and organisational culture. Has been helping various organisations and corporates in strategic planning and capacity building of employees besides grooming their managers as intrapreneurs, leading to a conducive climate for corporate entrepreneurship. Currently, the national team leader of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) India.

Mr S B Sareen

Director

A textile technologist with rich management background. Possesses over 37 years of teaching, training and consultancy experience in entrepreneurship at both national and international levels. Has been trained at the Netherlands International Institute for Management (RVB); University of California, Berkeley, USA; University of Texas, Austin, USA and Osaka, Japan on innovation, incubation and science & technology entrepreneurship. Has expertise in conducting new enterprise creation, faculty development and capacity building programmes for entrepreneurship development. Has worked in various countries viz. the Netherlands, Bhutan, Mozambique, Jordan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Vietnam, Malaysia, USA, Japan, Iran, Thailand and Uzbekistan, to name a few.

Dr Satya Ranjan Acharya

Director

A business management professional with over 18 years of teaching and consultancy experience in the areas of financial management, idea generation and business plan formulation. Trained in entrepreneurship teaching at Stanford Technology Venture Programmes and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Worked as a Research Fellow with the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad. Trained in Application of Simulation for Entrepreneurship Teaching at the University of Tennessee, USA. Developed cases on innovative entrepreneurs of Gujarat.

Mayank Patel

CEO

Has over 10 years of experience in banking and financial services and has completed seven years as an academician. He has received CFA charter from CFA Institute, USA. His academic interests include financial markets, asset pricing, behavioural finance, risk management and quantitative methods. Specialises in the areas of investment research, corporate finance and financial derivatives. Has presented papers during various conferences and also attended workshops on econometrics and computational finance. He is a keen follower of political economy and developments in the field of education.

Jaykumar Joshi

Manager, Incubation

Mr. Joshi"s career spans over 8 years in the fields of Investment Management and Technology Business Incubation Management. Mr. Joshi was associated as Senior Fellow with National Innovation Foundation - India, an autonomous institution of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, which provides institutional support to grassroots innovators. His earlier professional assignment has been in the area of Investment Management as Portfolio and Relationship Manager. He is a Commerce graduate from H.L. College of Commerce, Ahmedabad and has pursued his Post Graduation in Business Entrepreneurship from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. He is also a Certified Financial Planner from Financial Planning and Standard Board of India and an NSE Certified Market Professional.
