A Brief Report on “Entre-Plexus 2007”, First EDII Alumni Meet

20th May, 2007 : A landmark day for 9 batch old EDI PG programme. The day that marked the successful accomplishment of EDII PGP alumni meet, christened “ENTRE – PLEXUS”, on formation of a formal Alumni Managing Committee. Let us go through the happenings of this eventful meet.
The sparkling campus. on 19th evening, welcomed chief guest Shri Sushil Handa, Chairman and Managing Director, Claris LifeSciences Limited, Ahmedabad; who inaugurated ‘Entre-Plexus 2007’ by lighting up the ceremonial diya. The chief guest was joined by Prof. Dinesh Awasthi, Director, EDI and Prof. Sunil Shukla, Chief Faculty and Chairperson (PGP). The breezy evening encountered an equally gusty address from the Chief Guest. A Souvenir of ‘Entre-Plexus 2007’ and a Desk Calendar (Thought of the Day) is released by the Chief Guest. The dignity of the event was increased by the healthy attendence of around 150 Alumni, IX Batch Students, EDI Faculty and Staff Members.
The next day i.e 20th May, 2007(Sunday) started with a session on “Inter-Batch Linkage” anchored by Prof. B. B. Siddiqui where the Alumni interacted with the current Batch Students.
Later a Refresher Session was held for PGDBEM and PGDMN Students. Prof. Sunil Shukla and Mr. Manoj Mishra respectively Chaired the sessions and briefed the alumni about the PGP programme’s journey from 1998 till now.
This was followed by a Free Wheeling Interaction Session with Prof. Dinesh Awasthi, Prof. Sunil Shukla and Prof. KVSM Krishna. Varied issues such as -support from EDI, organizing Refresher Course for the alumni, nomenclature of PGDMN course, etc. were deliberated upon.
Afternoon engagements were with guest speakers Shri Sunil Parekh. Ex-Director, CII, Gujarat and Shri Gagan Sethi, Janvikas, who spoke on Entrepreneurship & Modern Technologies and NGO Governance respectively to EM & MN alumni.
The most significant development of the meet comes now. One of the most fruitful outcome of the Entre-Plexus Alumni Meet 2007 – is the formation of a formal ALUMNI MANGEMENT COMMITTEE. The eight office bearers were elected through a democratic method under the supervision of Prof. Sunil Shukla, Mr.Manoj Mishra and Prof. KVSM Krishna. Given is the list of the members who have accepted the responsibility:

- Joint Secretary - Mr. Mayur Thakkar, PGDBEM, II batch
- Joint Secretary - Mr. Mitul Shah, PGDBEM, II batch
- Joint Secretary - Mr. Rutul Zaveri, PGDBEM, V batch
Also Alumni chapters for Mumbai, Rajasthan, Ahmedabad, etc. are formed.
Later on the Office Bearers had a meeting to discuss about the future direction of Alumni.
The Alumni President in his formal address to the gathering that included the alumni, students, Director –EDI, Chairperson – PGP, edi staff and faculty members, pledged to make EDI ALUMNI – the future of growth.
Last but not the least, a scintillation and engaging show – conducted, organized and performed by the 9th batch students, aptly titled SPANDAN, marked the closing of the successful first Alumni Meet.
