Centre For Entrepreneurship Education & Research

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps

The Institute conducts several activities to generate widespread awareness about entrepreneurship among masses.

  1. Opportunity Guidance Fairs : Such fairs are organised in various colleges from time to time so that students get an insight into various business opportunities in manufacturing, trading, service sectors. Such fairs also aim at promoting entrepreneurship as a career option among students. Students get opportunities to interact with experts and also benefit from one-to-one counselling. They get detailed information on a host of business opportunities under one roof.
  2. Student-Entrepreneur Clubs on Campuses : This is a forum to facilitate student-entrepreneur interaction. Entrepreneurs are involved in mentoring students interested in taking up an entrepreneurial career. Creation of a national network of such clubs will facilitate exchange of information and resources.
  3. Orientation Visits for Students : The Institute organises one-day orientation visits for students mainly from the vocational stream. The objectives of organising such visits are to expose the students towards entrepreneurship.

Since these students often possess technical skills, these orientation visits open up new career opportunity for them and motivate them to be their own boss. The results have been encouraging. No fee is charged for the visits. Interested institutions may contact the Institute.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS

One of the satisfying achievements, however, was taking entrepreneurship to a large number of schools, colleges, science and technology institutions and management schools in by including entrepreneurship inputs in their curricula. As a Nodal Agency of the University Grants Commission, EDI has developed curriculum on Entrepreneurship for college education. The institute has also developed textbooks on entrepreneurship for 11th and 12th standards in vernacular language i.e. Gujarati.
