National Seminar on Approaches to Enrepreneurship Education & Deliberations on Establishment of Entrepreneurship and Business Development Centres (EBDCs) in Higher Education Institutions :

In the year 2001, with the support from the National Entrepreneurship Development Board (NEDB), Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries (SSI & ARI), Government of India, New Delhi, Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) of India carried out a four-state study on “Entry Barriers to Entrepreneurship: As Perceived by the Youth” to identify facilitating and hindering factors for educated youth and employees in taking up entrepreneurship as a career option. As a fall-out of that study, the Ministry of SSI and ARI has launched a scheme of establishing Entrepreneurship and Business Development Centres (EBDCs) in select universities, colleges, regional engineering colleges, institutions and organizations under the Plan Scheme of NEDB.
